The General Assembly is the backbone of the United Nations. It contains a member from all 193 nations. It covers all issues that appear in the United Nations. All issues are voted on here and require a 2/3 majority vote. Smaller issues require a majority vote. All countries have one vote.
The International Court of Justice was started during assembly of the United Nations. It is the equivalent of the judiciary branch of the United Nations. The function is to settle legal disputes submitted by any of the 193 countries and supply advice on legal questions. It is based in the Netherlands and contains 15 judges that come from multiple countries.
My issue is AIDS or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome.
The AIDS epidemic has spread to every corner of the world and more than 60 million people have been infected with HIV/AIDS. It destroys the immune system and causes you to become very ill.
AIDS is a issue that occurs everywhere in the world. It occurs mostly in third world countries.
It is an issue for third world countries where rape and lack of education is common. It is also a problem among the drug/homosexual community.
In 2000, world leaders set specific goals to stop and reverse the spread of HIV at the General Assembly’s Millennium Summit.
